1. Who We Are
LFGxp is operated by LEP Foundation (Lived Experience People Foundation) — lep.ae — operating under its registered legal entity, ASHAB ALTAJURBA AL HEIA CONSULTANTS, Dubai DET License 1519775. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
2. What We Collect
- Account information: email address, name, language preference
- Assessment and support-request information: responses you provide when describing what kind of support you are looking for, including information related to your wellbeing and, where applicable, crisis indicators
- Usage information: how you interact with the app, device type, general technical logs
- Optional device permissions, only if you grant them: camera, location, and notifications — see Section 6
3. How We Use Your Information
We do not sell your personal information.
- To operate the platform: create your account, match you with peer support, and facilitate your use of the service
- To keep you safe: if information you share indicates you may be at risk, specifically authorized safety-trained personnel may access relevant information solely to help connect you with appropriate support
- To improve LFGxp: with your separate, optional consent (Section 4), we may use de-identified information to understand how the platform is used and improve it
4. Research and Development Use — Separate, Optional Consent
Agreeing to our Terms of Service to use LFGxp does not automatically enroll you in research use of your data. If you choose to opt in, we may use de-identified information (with direct identifiers removed) to understand usage patterns and improve the platform. You can opt in or out at any time in Settings → Privacy, and opting out does not affect your ability to use LFGxp.
5. Who Can Access Your Information
Access is role-restricted and limited to what is necessary:
- You always have access to your own information
- Peer Experts you are matched with see only what is necessary to provide support in that specific interaction
- Safety-trained staff may access relevant information specifically when there is an indication you may be at risk, to help connect you with appropriate support — this access is logged
- Infrastructure providers that help us run the platform (database hosting, security/bot-protection, email delivery) process information under confidentiality obligations and only as needed to provide their service to us — they do not use your information for their own purposes
6. Device Permissions
LFGxp may ask for permission to access your camera, location, or send you notifications. These permissions are:
- Always optional — declining does not block you from using core features of the app, except features that specifically require that permission
- Requested at the moment they are needed, not all at once — you will see your phone's own permission prompt, which you control
- Revocable at any time in your phone's settings
7. How We Protect Your Information
- Information is encrypted in transit (TLS)
- Access to sensitive information is restricted by role at the database level, not just in the app's interface
- Access to safety-sensitive information is logged
- We use bot-detection and rate-limiting to protect against automated abuse of the platform
8. Data Retention
- While your account is active, we retain your information to provide the service
- If you close your account, we retain your information for 30 days in case you wish to restore it, after which it is permanently deleted from our active systems
- Backup copies are purged on our normal backup cycle within a further 30 days
- If you have opted in to research use (Section 4), de-identified data may be retained longer since it can no longer be tied back to you
9. Your Rights
You can access and correct your information through your account settings. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at support@lfgxp.com.
10. Children's Privacy
LFGxp is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the app or your registered email before they take effect.
